Sabrina Magliulo

Ms. MagliuloSabrina Magliulo currently serves as the Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), which is part of New Jersey City University’s Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP). She also co-leads NJCU’s work to advance first-generation student success as part of NJCU’s national membership in the Center for First-Generation Success’ First Scholars Network. As a proud EOF alumna and first-generation college student who knows firsthand the power of influence one can have on another person’s trajectory, she has devoted her career to supporting students and clients to create a life of opportunities that were not afforded to previous generations.

With over 15 years of experience in higher education, she has had the privilege of serving as director of EOF and director of the Center for Student and Academic Success at Hudson County Community College; adjunct professor and clinical supervisor for the Master of Arts in Counseling Program at NJCU; and program specialist and interim associate director of EOF at The College of New Jersey. Prior to transitioning into higher education, she served as a mental health clinician in outpatient, non-profit, and educational settings across several economically marginalized communities.

Ms. Magliulo holds a Master of Science in Education in Psychological Services from the University of Pennsylvania, an Educational Specialist degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of New Jersey; as well as a NJ license in Marriage and Family Therapy. As a Ph.D. candidate in the Family Science and Human Development program at Montclair State University, her research interests include intersectionality of first-generation college students, trauma-informed care, and exploring how opportunity programs utilize community cultural wealth (CCW) to develop healing-centered spaces.

In support of organizations whose missions are closely aligned with her personal values and lived experiences, Ms. Magliulo has served as the Chair of the Educational Opportunity Fund Statewide Alumni Association (EOFSAA) and several leadership positions within Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Incorporated. She currently serves as a New Jersey delegate on the Board of Directors for the Tri-State Consortium of Opportunity Programs.
