Sade Moore, M.S.Ed, MHC, is a Program Officer within the Office of Postsecondary Access, Support, and Success at the New York State Education Department (NYSED). She manages the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) projects across New York, serves as a liaison for HEOP grant-funded institutions, and assists with Civil Rights Compliance Reviews for postsecondary institutions that receive Perkins V funding to support Career and Technical Education Programs.
Before NYSED, Ms. Moore worked at two liberal arts colleges as the Assistant Director of Opportunity Programs. While there, she provided counseling and programming for HEOP students and two institutionally funded student support and access programs. Before entering the Higher Education arena, she worked in the Capital Region community providing mental health services, and for the New York State Assembly as a Budget Analyst, covering the mental hygiene portfolio and supervising the spending for State agencies that serve New York’s most vulnerable populations.
Ms. Moore is passionate about helping people from marginalized communities gain access to education and the necessary resources to find personal success and reach their goals. Ms. Moore earned her BA from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the College of Saint Rose.
