Dr. Andre Turner is currently the Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program at Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC), Immediate Past-President of the Educational Opportunity Fund Professional Association of New Jersey (EOFPANJ), and a member of the Tri-State Consortium Executive Board. Dr. Turner worked at Ramapo College of New Jersey and Fairleigh Dickinson University in EOF and campus life, respectively. He graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor of Science in Management (2008) and a Master of Public Administration (2010). He later earned his Doctor of Education from Saint Peter’s University in 2020 where his dissertation focused on students’ perception of the effectiveness of college opportunity programs. Dr. Turner also taught pathways linking academic and career experiences, preparing for professional life and transition to university life, as an adjunct instructor.
Dr. Turner has been working in higher education professionally for 14 years, uncovering his passion for working with college access programs, male mentoring, and supporting college students who have been traditionally underserved. As a first-generation student, he understands the challenges of minority and underrepresented college students. He strives to advocate for this population of students to help them navigate the terrain of college and minimize the barriers that can potentially derail them from succeeding.
In his roles with the EOFPANJ and Tri-State Consortium, Andre looks to help more students persist to graduation while spreading the word regionally and nationally about the great work of both organizations. When Andre is not in the office he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, or watching a good series or movie.
