The fiscal 2023 state budget in New Jersey includes a proposal to extend tuition reduction assistance to students from households with annual adjusted gross incomes up to $80,000. The state Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) and Garden State Guarantee Initiative currently cover tuition and fees for students from families with annual AGI of $65,000 or less, at community colleges and NJ state colleges and universities. Several institutions include Rutgers University, Stockton University, St. Peters University. The proposed extension of the CCOG would cover up to 50% of the cost of tuition and fees at community Colleges. It’s important to note that each of the programs is a last-dollar grant after Pell, NJ Tuition AID Grant, and EOF grant.
