Denison University’s Varsity D Association has announced its 2021 Hall of Fame inductees which will include a posthumous award to Henry Durand ’70 for football. When he joined the Big Red team as a rookie in 1966, Durand was the first African American football player at Denison since the early 1900s. He became co-founder and the first president of the university’s Black Student Union, and he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
