It’s estimated that nationwide more than 57,000 students were homeless on college campuses.
SUNY students may receive assistance for housing during winter break, provided their campus has dorms and is open during the winter break. If a student is in foster care, or if does not have a safe place to stay over break, housing options may be available at no cost for the break.
Students in the Educational Opportunity Program, should contact their EOP Director for information on housing options. All other students should contact either the Residential Life Office on their campus or the New York State Office of Children and Family Services at (518) 474-7086 by Friday December 15, 2017 to learn more.
If you know of a student who might need a safe place to stay over break, let them know that free housing options may be available for them.
